March 30, 2015............"Are We Standing in Holy Places?"

Okay man what's up guys!
Another week down! Crazy it's been 4 months
already!  This week was pretty sweet we had "C's" baptism!  I
was super nervous as was he lol because I have never baptized someone and
he had never been baptized. But all went well and he said he loved
it! His Sister and Mom and Stepdad actually came to the baptism! We
hope to start working with them as well in time! But this week was
awesome because we got a media referral! Which means she was online
and wanted to get in contact with the missionaries so they gave us her
info! "C" was also a media referral as was "V" (a recent convert
before I got here). Media referrals are always miracles in themselves.
So "Cass" was going through a tough time and she wanted a church to
pray with and she was online and came across Mormon.org so she got in
touch with an online rep and they talked for a while and prayed
together and "Cass" said she was so happy. She asked how she could
learn more and the online rep said she would send Missionaries there
in a few days. So the next day after they talked,  me and elder Pututau
were legit like .2 miles from her home and we just happened to check
our referrals that day and it said she wanted a visit so we stopped by
and man she is amazing! She said she had known Missionaries when she
was younger and they would always been so nice to her family and taught
he family! After discussing a few things and showing her the new
Easter video we invited her to be baptized! She said she would like to
when the time comes! Then right After we got done with that lesson
we got in the car and our ZLs texted us and said to call another set
of Elders because they had an awesome referral for us! So we call them
and they did indeed! It's a young couple with a young baby and the
elders contacted them and they were super excited about finding a
church and they took a Book of Mormon and also said how they were
excited that there was a Prophet on the earth today!!!! Miracles
happen , but only if you are worthy for them to happen to you!!
The lord will bless you with people that need you but only if he knows
your willing to do something about it! Miracles keep happening and
it's only the beginning! Me and Elder Pututau also gave 5 blessings
yesterday.  We also taught the Gospel Principles class and the lesson
was on the Priesthood. As we were teaching I was reminded of Thomas S
Monson who said "Wherever we go our priesthood goes with us, are we
standing in holy places?" Or something along those lines. So this week
as you all go about your week, ask yourselves. Are you standing in
holy places? Are you doing what is right and worthy of that
Priesthood? Both men and women. We are all under the direction of the
Priesthood and we are all under its influence no matter our age,
color, sex, or size. The Priesthood is real and I have seen literal
miracles of healing from it in these short 4 months I have been out.
Stand in holy places my friends. And the Lord will be right next to
you. I love you all stay Gucci! .

Oh and I almost forgot by now you guys have seen the new Easter video
#Because He Lives.....I would also invite you to share like and post
that video as much as you can! I know you are all on Facebook
Instagram and Twitter so share it with everyone! It was hard not to
tell about it but we as Missionaries knew about it coming out since
our last missions conference when elder Zswick of the 70 came! They
actually showed us the video before it was released and before it was in
its final stages! So everyone share and keep sharing that video with those around you!

March 23, 2015 "Me and Elder Pututau are killing it!"

Hello friends and family!

Another week gone by in sunny hot humid Orlando! This week has been a good one! Me and Elder Pututau are killing it! We teach so many people haha. Our investigator C who is getting baptized on the 28th so this Saturday asked me to baptize him! He had been praying about who should baptize him and who should confirm him and etc. and he said finally he had the idea to put the names in a bowl and let the lord guide his hand! So he said the first name was going to baptize him (me) the second was going to confirm him (Pututau) and The last two would speak on baptism and the Holy Ghost ( some members he has grown close too)! So I will be baptizing C this Saturday and I'm so excited! It's been so awesome seeing him grow spiritually and just in general. He has defended the Book of Mormon so many times it's unreal how strong his faith and devotion to the Gospel is! We have been working on getting more referrals from members but it just hasn't been working out and I think it's the lords way of telling us we need to go find people ourselves so that's what we will be doing all this week! We are having a missionary barbecue this week lol. We will be having barbecue at a less active members home ' and he will be inviting his whole neighborhood for some fried chicken and some Gospel lol. So hopefully we can find some people to teach there! And we are also going to devote some time in a day to purchase an all day bus pass and go contacting on the bus! The buses are huge thing here in Orlando and  so many people use them so we had the idea of just devoting one day to riding the buses with a member who rides them a lot and to teach people the gospel! It should be awesome! Also we got flipped off this week lol. Some guy was driving by super fast and I looked over and saw his hand up and I thought he was waving so I went to wave back and realized it was his middle finger lolol it's okay he'll get baptized some day. Well this week should be good! I'm super excited for C to be baptized! I love you all and I hope everything is going well back home!

March 16, 2015.............#theatonementisrealpeople

Holy another week done! Hahaha so just a recap on the beginning of the
week! We had transfer meeting and Elder Yates got transferred! And as
President was saying where all the missionaries getting transferred
were going I saw my boy Elder Pututau was one of the ones getting
transferred and he is a district leader so he could have been put with
me. So I said a quick prayer and asked Heavenly Father if it be his
will to please put elder Pututau and me together..guess who my new
comp is? Elder Pututau!!! Hahahah I was so stoked! He is from salt
lake and he is full Tongan! He's a beast! He is huge! (In a good way)
he has a scholarship to the U to play football after he gets home! But
he might go to OSU because the coaches that recruited him at the U
moved to OSU I guess? Idk lol. But he's a boss. We had such a good
first week of the transfer and taught a lot of people. I know Heavenly
Father is watching over me cuz I have been blessed with 3 great
companions already! But that's that! This weeks miracle was awesome!
Might seem small but it was huge to us. So me and Putuau were just
finishing a lesson and it was 4:30 so we had 30 min before dinner and
we were just going to have an early dinner and then I was like well
let's see if there's anyone else we can see. And I was looking in the
area book and I was scrolling and I saw sister Q and something told me
to go see her. So I was like ight dog lets go see her and then we'll
eat yeah? And so we went. Sister Q is a less active who we have been
working with and her son J lives with her also he's about 30
something. So we go there and knock and knock and no one answers. Then
we hear J coming up the stares and he is all excited to see us hahaha.
And so we were like hey J is your mom here? And he said let me check
and he came out and he said no she's not! And right when he said that
I had a straight up prompting that we needed to share something with
him. Just a quick background he is a member but has no records and is
super less active and smokes and yeah he never sits in on lessons or
comes to church. But anyways so we were like hey J can we share a
scripture with you? And he hesitated then he was like.... Ehh why not.
So we sat down and shared mosiah 16:7-9. And we started talking about
the Book of Mormon and and then about the church and he straight up
said that the Book of Mormon is the most correct book ever and that
the mormon church or "Mormonism" as he refers to it is the most
correct church also. And so were like what really!!? And he said yeah
guys these past few weeks I've been. Thinking a lot about my life and
there's something missing and I know it's because I don't come to
church anymore (while we're talking sister Q gets home and joins us).
And me and elder P are like what!!!!(in our heads of course) and were
like well are you wanting to come back to church? And he said oh
yeah....I want to be reconverted and if that means stop smoking and
being rebaptized then so be it. And at this point were just loss for
words all we could do is smile. and he said looking to his mother that
he promises he will be at church tomorrow. And so we leave just super
happy and in shock. And he and his mom come up to me after sacrament
and I wish you guys could have seen how awesome and happy they both
looked. It was like they were new people. J had shaved and was
dressed so nice and sister Q was so happy and had a huge smile on her
face and they stayed all three hours! I saw Christ working in their
lives and it was so awesome. So if there's anything I can advise you
all to do its to listen to the thoughts and impressions that come to
you. They are the spirit and they are inspiration from our Heavenly
Father. Peoples lives can be changed if we just choose to act on the
promptings we receive. The church is true God is real and I love my
mission. And I love all of you! Thank you all for supporting me and
helping me get to this point. #theatonementisrealpeople. Oh and we are
getting new iPads this Wednesday so that's gonna be sick!!!! Oh and of
course!  "C" is super solid still and is so excited to be baptized on the 28th!we are taking him on a temple
tour this week!

March 9, 2015 " I Am Convinced That Missionary Work is Not an Easy Task Because Salvation is Not a Cheap Experience"....Elder Holland

Hello!

Well the last week of the transfer is over!! Unfortunately Elder Yates
will be transferred! He's been here in Olympia for almost 8 months so
we kinda figured it was his time to leave! And I'm staying! I'm glad
I'm not being moved again hahaha I think I can lead the area now so it
should be a good learning experience. Elder Yates was the District
Leader so I think they are going to bring another District Leader in
as my companion! This transfer has been so sick. Me and elder Yates
have done such awesome things here in Olympia and he is leaving on a
good note. I don't think I've told you guys about Courtney. Courtney
is 16 and he was a media referral. He requested a Book of Mormon
online and so we got his info and went over. We have taught him 3
times now and he will be baptized on March 28! Wait a sec I think I
did say something about him last week. He was the one that came to
church and was asking about baptism hahaha. But yeah he is super
awesome and is excited about being baptized. No word from Erick yet
but we will keep trying to call and stop by! Earlier this week Elder
Yates showed me a "talk" given by Elder Holland to a group of mission
presidents and I'm not sure when or where it was or how to find it but
the quote that struck me the hardest is along the lines of "I am
convinced missionary work it not an easy task because salvation is not
a cheap experience" you've probably seen that quote on FB or
something. But this talk really really hits you hard especially as a
missionary. I don't think I've heard a more powerful talk by Elder
Holland than this one. This week we have had a lot of members going
out with us to lessons and it was so nice. I've said this a ton but
I'll say it again. Member missionaries make more members! The work
goes so much better when the Ward is involved. So if you guys back
home or wherever your reading this have missionaries in your
ward(which you all should) ask them when they need you to go out with
them. There should not be one lesson that those missionaries don't
have a member. The missionaries job is to teach and invite it's the
wards job to keep people active and coming to church. Help your
missionaries out, I only say this and emphasize this because me and
Elder Yates have been taken care of so much here and It would be wrong
of me not to invite you guys to do the same for the missionaries where
you are. Not only will it help them but it will excite you and get you
pumped up to do more missionary work. Remember salvation is not a
cheap experience. We must be missionaries every day of our lives. I
love my mission and I love the things I have learned in the short time
I've been here. I'm so excited for the time I have left. The church is
true, the book is blue, and Jesus loves you! Oh and on Saturday a
young man named Immri was baptized! I never told you guys about him.
Immri is in the Ocoee Ward (my last Ward) he is a friend of some
members and he had been coming to church for a while and so me and
Elder Pelo started teaching him. We set a baptism date with him and
everything and then Pelo went home and I got transferred. But the
elders that got out there in place of us kept teaching him and finally
got him baptized! Immri even asked if I would baptize him so I asked
President but he said no! Haha so that was a bummer but we still got
to go to the baptism and I'll send some pics of that! Love you all!

March 2, 2015-"What good is it to know what we know if we don't live and share it"?

Hello friends and family! Man what a busy week! I can't believe March
is already over 😱 crazy hahaha time is really flying. So this past
week was super busy! But it went by so fast since we had P-day on
Tuesday. So like I said last p day we had mission conference! It was
sweet. And then on Wednesday I went on exchanges with the zone leaders
for the day! That's was cool. They are bosses man I'm glad we have
super chill/obedient ZLs. Thursday was a normal day except we finally
got to see someone named Courtney! He's 16 and he was a media
referral. He referred himself on Mormon .org and requested a Book of
Mormon. We went over and met him and taught him! He's super awesome
and humble kid he loves researching religions and is looking for one.
His friend told him he should check out the Mormons so he did! After
the lesson he said he wanted to come to church! And he did hahaha. He
was there yesterday and he loved it. He even asked us about baptism!
He was like "so the baptism thing you guys go all the way under
water?" And me and yates explained it and he was like "okay cool so do
I just sign up for a date or something?" And me and yates looked at
each other and were like....YEP hahahaha. We told him we would talk
more about it this coming week lol he was asking us right in the
middle of the lesson in Sunday school so it wasn't the right time to
set a date but we will this week! These last two weeks have been full
of awesome miracles and honestly the best two weeks so far of the
transfer. This last week (week 6) is going to be suuuuper busy if
everything goes through. We find out who's getting transferred on
Saturday so that's gonna stink! Me and Yates have done work here in
Olympia I hope we can stay at least one more transfer together. Mom I
took a lot of pics this week lol like the most I've taken since I've
been out here. But other than that this week was super good. I was
reading that book you sent me mom "How do I know if I know?" And I
came across a quote I think everyone should read/apply. It says " if
we READ about the gospel, were informed, but if we PRACTICE or LIVE
the gospel, we are transformed." Just think about that this week and
ask yourselves if just reading is enough? What good is it to know what
we know if we don't live and share it? I love you all stay Gucci and
safe. Shout out to the boys doing it big in CHICAGO, ARGENTINA, CHILE,
SAMOA, EL SALVADOR, and AUSTRALIA. WHERE EVER YOU ARE ALL OVER THE WORLDD NAHH
MEAN????? hahaha love you guys.
