May 30, 2016....."What is a true disciple of Jesus Christ?"

Well friends and family!

Another week down in Cocoa. Don't worry I'm
surviving, this week wasn't that bad. We had zone conference this
week. It actually wasn't too bad. Normally I'm not a fan but this one
wasn't bad. They actually trained us on useful missionary stuff not a
30 minute training on role plays lolol. ( role plays are dumb go
actually teach people if you wanna learn how to teach better ). So
yeah it was cool. Said bye to Pres Berry. Well we just all shook his
hand haha I'll never see him again! He leaves in 3 weeks.   Also,
shout out to my boy Elder Pututau who is home. Good luck fafa. And also
special shout out to Sister Maxfield who I recieved a letter from.
Since I'm hitting my 18 month mark this week that means she goes home
soon! Your the real MVP can't wait to hang out after the mish. P.S. she
was in the MTC the same time as me and she is serving in Cali. Umm
lets see. We have a sick guy on date named Doug. He's solid as heck
haha. Jack and Kathy came to church again!! They are solid as well. We
had some great lessons with them this week. And we had our ward party
and Kathy came to that and we chilled with her the whole time. I feel
like they are the reason I was sent here honestly. Every time we call
her she always answers like " yo yo yo what's up " hahaha. But things
are good here. Just Slavin away like normal jkjk I love the mish, this
Friday is my 18 month mark so that's cool, I start 6 months to sexy
also which means I have to eat healthy and actually work out so I can
be skinny when I come home! Love you all and I suck at pics sorry I'll
try and send some

Here's a good quote from president eyring. Shout out to Brother
Cherepon for sharing it in his talk on Sunday. I'll probably use it in
my homecoming talk lol. It describes perfectly what a disciple of
Jesus Christ is. And what I've been striving my whole mission to be
like.

" I am apart of the fellowship of the unashamed. The dye has been
cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I AM A
DISCIPLE OF JESUS CHRSIT. I won't look back, let up, slow down, or be
still. My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is
secure. I'm finished and done with low living, small planning, smooth
knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving
and dwarfed goals. I no longer need pre-eminence, positions,
promotions, plaudits, or popularity. I don't have to be right, first,
recognized, praised, regarded or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean
on HIS presence, walk with patience, I am uplifted by prayer, and
labor with power. My face is set, my gait is fast, my goal is heaven.
My road is narrow, my way is rough, my companions are few, my guide is
reliable, my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised,
detoured, lured away, divided, or delayed. I will not flinch in the
face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary,
negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of of
popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won't give up,
shut up, or let up until I have stayed up, stored up, and paid up for
the cause of CHRIST. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach
till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He returns for his
own, He will have no problem recognizing me. My banner will be clear.
"

I love you all. And I'm grateful for my time to serve the Lord.

May 23, 2016......"The spirit can really touch the hearts of people"

Okay Friends and family another week down here in cocoa. It went by
really fast actually I feel like it was just Pday yesterday. Jk
everyday is a Pday for me ;-). I hope you all had a great week. We had
a lot of success this week in seeing our investigators. We have a man
named Doug who we are working with and he's so cool. We went over to
talk to him about his baptismal date because it had been pushed back
and we started talking about the Book of Mormon and he said yeah every
time I read I always think to myself there is no way a 14 year old boy
could have written this or made it up, and were like yeah we know
right ha ha. So that was cool. We've been praying about a baptismal
date for him and we felt like June 11 would be a good one so we told
him to pray about it so hopefully he receives an answer. Then we had a
great lesson with another investigator from a part member family the
dad isn't a member. We talked about the Atonement and it was a super
spiritual lesson. He really opened up and told us some of his
concerns. He told us he is sure he will get baptized he just doesn't
know when. The spirit can really touch the hearts of people it
awesome. I love the atonement. I've read so much about it whether it be
scriptures or in Jesus the Christ or just other books on it. It has
saved me and still carries me on the daily. Then we had a lesson with
K and J and it was sick we talked about baptism and k was like so do I
just schedule to be baptized or how does it work? And we're like yes
yes you do and we talked about it and she wants to get baptized and J
was like I've never been baptized so I wanna be baptized too hahaha so
it was just a lot at one time but we are gonna help them progress to
that! All in all it was a very successful week. This week should be
good as well, we have zone conference on Tuesday and its president
Berry's last one so he will probably make it super trunky but it's all
good I'm excited to meet president Clark. Also, Thursday there's a
shuttle launch that will happen so we are gonna watch it lol should be
sweet. Love you all send me letters pls.

May 16, 2016...."My testimony is to not judge others by what they look like"

Well friends and fam the first week here in Cocoa is done with. We
aren't supposed to be negative in our emails home so I'll just say it
was very interesting haha. I love my new companion Elder Goddard. He
has such a great heart and just wants to do his best in each area he
serves. He has been out 6 months now and he's from Oakley Idaho. I am
gonna learn a lot from him. He's super quiet. I think I've already
opened him up a bit this last week. It'll take a few more weeks but I
can't have a quiet companion I'll go insane in the membrane  insane in
the brain lulz. Elder Hawkins was quiet at first  as well but by the
end of the transfer we could have a convo about anything. So I'm
hoping it will be the same with Goddard.

So the area. I don't know where to begin. I'll start out by listing
the good ( I've had to do this a lot this last week in order to keep
me from being trunky )
We are full car
We don't share the ward
We live in a 3 bedroom 2 bathroom w/ a garage house
We have an electric reclining couch
The less actives are fetching awesome
There's tons of people to be taught.
Kennedy space center is in our ward ( we got free tickets from some
members so we're going soon)
There's a chic fila on Merritt island ( still super far )
The less active that drives us to exchanges has a Shelby GT500
There isn't slot of places to eat out so I'll save money
There isn't a lot places to shop so I'll save money LOL

Now I won't list the bad because that would be negative of me. But in
reality I just need to man up and stop complaining hahaha. I'll work
as hard here as I have in any other areas maybe a little more. I'm not
here for materialistic things or for the niceness of the area.
Although those things make it a lot easier that is not why I'm here.

We actually had a great week teaching and finding wise. The week did
seem to drag on and literally no one is ever home here and they never
ever answer their phones, not even the members!! Hahaha. So we did a
lot of stopping by people and them not being home. But because the
ward has such a big number of less active members we stay busy and on
Thursday I think it was we were going to try and meet a less active
and so we pull up to her house and before we can get out of the car a
lady named K ( for privacy I guess ) was like " she ain't there!!" And
so we walked over and started talking to her and found out that she
and her boyfriend live with sister F ( the less active ) so we talked
to K for a while and she told us her boyfriend who just got out of
jail was looking for a church to go to because he had been to a lot of
other ones and didn't like any of them. ( he was on the other side of
the road at another trailer home ) so she goes over there and talks to
him about us and we here them arguing a bit then she comes back and
was like " are y'all Jehovahs?? He doesn't like Jehovahs anymore " so
we reassured her we were most definitely not Jehovahs haha so she went
back over and talked to him then waved us over and we talked to J is
his name for privacy again we talked to j about our church and they
both seemed very interested and said they wanted to try it out this
Sunday. They gave us their number so we could set up a ride for them.
So fast forward to Saturday ( sorry for the long story ) we give them a
call and ask them if they are still wanting to come to church and they
said yes of course so we got them a ride and then we asked if we could
come by just to talk about church. So we went over and had a sick
lesson with them and it was great because sister F the less active was
there and she sat in and shared her testimony about Joseph smith and
Book of Mormon. Then we asked J if he had any questions and he was
like yeah I got one " can y'all teach me how to tie one of them neck
ties? " hahaha so we just laughed and said of course. We also asked
him what he wanted out of a church and he said to feel comfortable, he
wants to be able to go to church and not have to wear something fancy
and still feel like people love him and don't judge him, so we assured
him that he could wear whatever he wanted ( in my head I was thinking
I hope  it would work out) so we showed him how to tie a tie
and we left. So Sunday comes and J and K show up to church and J is
wearing s full on suit!! With some sick boots and his hair all done up
and K is wearing a floral dress! And they both looked like completely
different people. And long story short they loved church especially J
after the 3rd hour he looked at us and was like " okay what's next
guys?" And we were like well it's over hahaha! He said he loved it and
didn't want it to end and as they were leaving the building he turned
around and was like so when you guys coming over again?? And we were
like whenever you want us to. So long story I know but I have it
include the detail or it wouldn't seem as good haha. My testimony is
to not judge others because of what they look like, and that our
attitude is what determined how happy and successful we can be. I love
you all have a great week!

May 9, 2016....."I realize that change is always going to happen whether i'ts on a mission or in life"

Well friends and family as the transfer comes to end so does my reign
here in Kissimmee. I can't believe it's come already. I feel as though
I just got here. I love this ward and I love the people here so much
it's going to be really hard to leave but I know the lord needs me
elsewhere now. I will be going to cocoa beach in the cocoa beach ward
I believe. My new companion is elder Goddard ( not sure if that's how
you spell it) like jimmy neutrons dogs name lol. I don't know much
about it but I am excited for a new area and new comp. change is
really hard sometimes but I've realized that change is always going to
happen whether it's on a mission or just in life so it's best to just
accept it and have a good attitude about whatever comes your way. This
was a great last week in Kissimmee. We taught a lot of people
especially less actives which I love. The best part was when we had
brother Evans come out with us to go see some people. We were chillin
at the church waiting for him and then someone pulls up in a huge k9
blazer on like 44 inch tires hahaha looked like a monster truck and
elder Hawkins was like " does he drive a truck " and I was like yeah
then I look and I saw it and I was like oh Nahh that's not him. So we
wait for a little then he texts us and says I'm here hahaha so we walk
out and lo and behold it's 5 feet 5 brother Evans getting out of a
huge truck that was at least 3 feet off the ground Lol. So we get in
it and head out and go and stop by some peeps but no luck so we go see
Larry and Lisa who's are my favorite and we share a message. But on
the way there we saw a dirt road off to the side of the main road that
had a lot of mud and water so we went and picked up Larry and we went
off roading hahahaha. It was so fun. I took a cool video and some pics
so I will send them. But yeah it was a great week to end my time here
in Kissimmee. The ward has come such a long way since it was formed 4
months ago. I will miss it dearly. And I will miss elder Hawkins. He
is a great guy and we got along so well, I wish we could have done one
more together. I've been blessed with great companions my whole
mission and great areas and wards. I love you all and I love my
family. It was so awesome to talk to them and their faces. It was a
good last phone call home. 7 months left and I already know it's going
to fly by. I can't believe how fast time goes. I love my mission and
the people I've met. I'm trying not to be trunky buts gonna be hard
when Luke curt Seth and gator all come home hahahaha. Anyways I love
you all so much have a great week.
